Professional Development Attorney - Private Funds
Job Description
Our client, a Leading global law firm, is looking to hire a self-driven and highly motivated Professional Development Attorney (PDA) with 3+ years of substantial private funds experience. The PDA will serve as the key resource for lawyers in the practice, providing insights on legal and business developments that affect the firm and its clients. This internally focused role falls outside the traditional associate-to-partner track, offering an excellent opportunity for a skilled lawyer to play a pivotal role in supporting the knowledge and development needs of a successful practice group.
Position Overview:
- Self-starting, highly motivated PDA with 3+ years of substantive private funds expertise.
- Serve as a key resource for lawyers in the practice of legal and business developments.
- Internal, non-partner track role, supporting the practice group's knowledge and development needs.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge Management:
- Stay updated on private investment funds, the Securities Act of 1933, the Investment Company Act, and relevant regulatory trends.
- Maintain precedents, research materials, and databases, ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.
- Develop and manage content (forms, checklists, charts) for the practice group.
- Oversee matter descriptions and experience database to support business development initiatives.
- Assist in writing and publishing client alerts on legal developments.
Training & Development:
- Act as a legal and market expert, guiding lawyers in locating resources and documents.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development teams to design and deliver training for attorneys.
- Coordinate and sometimes lead group training sessions, including CLEs.
Collaboration & Business Development:
- Work with other PDAs and firm departments (Business Development, Information Services, etc.) to meet group needs.
- Support Business Development initiatives by contributing to pitches, presentations, and identifying opportunities.
Technology & Research:
- Partner with Innovation teams to evaluate legal technology solutions.
- Conduct complex legal research for client projects; track billable time when appropriate.
Job Requirements
